award-winning romance, suspense, and mystery author

FAITH LOST (Shepherd & Associates, Book 2)

Jake Shepherd is back, and Scarlett Kavanaugh is his wannabe partner as they seek to find who checked five-year-old Faith Johnson out of school while impersonating her mother.

A mother’s greatest nightmare tears at the heart of Scarlett as Jake pursues truth and justice, using his investigative skills, tactical training, intuitive talent, and relationship with his ex-wife’s husband (Jake’s former FBI supervisor) to ferret out the facts.

Mystery, danger, and risks ensue, along with sharp repartee and sexual tension in the first official case with Scarlett Kavanaugh on the payroll of Shepherd & Associates.

“Judith Erwin is a mesmerizing author that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Faith Lost is a crime novel that will touch you to the core. Superbly written, this captivating tale blends crime, suspense, and a touch of romance. Jake and Scarlett race from one clue to the next, knowing that Faith’s survival diminishes with each passing hour. Jake’s experience shines through even the roughest scenarios such as when Scarlett steps up and puts her life on the line for just a thread of proof the child is alive and safe. The characters are well-rounded and realistic. The story played out in my head like I was living it with the characters. I highly recommend this novel to those who enjoy good crime fiction.

CAPITOL MURDER (Shepherd & Associates, Book 1)

Jake Shepherd, cowboy, lawyer, and top-notch private investigator, meets Atlanta attorney Scarlett Kavanaugh when the husband of her estranged twin (a U.S. senator) is found dead. A savvy Harvard Law graduate, Scarlett is a formidable match for Jake with her quick wit, intelligence, and self-confidence. Sexy sparks fly as Scarlett assists in Jake’s investigation of the murder.

“Jake Shepherd is the latest private investigator cum lawyer that may well soon find his rightful place in the canon of literary sleuths. . . . Offending people is his gift, but so is reading suspects like a restaurant menu, as well as exuding a James Bondish charm that appeals to women.

The Ballet is a beautiful and heartbreaking novel that had me on the verge of tears at times. It gripped me from the very beginning. I loved the complex relationship between these two main characters. The development of their relationship was intense and very well-rounded. Nothing was rushed and the characters were given time to grow and blossom right in front of the reader. The narrative was good; it gave a new insight into the story and the lives of the main characters.. I loved it all!

A beautiful blend of romance spiced with the allure of dance, The Ballet is tantalizing, engrossing, and delightful, a novel that has what it takes to stir the emotions of the most indifferent reader. The characters are awesome, fleshed out, and exciting. Judith Erwin is a master in crafting gripping plots, creating a story that is fast paced and emotionally engaging.

The author does a great job of setting the reader up for suspense. Not only will the sexual tension between Gabi and Derek keep you furiously flipping through pages, you'll also be left wondering....what is Gabi's dark secret? The backdrop of the austere world of ballet makes an excellent metaphor, all around a great read.
