Judith Erwin
award-winning romance, suspense, and mystery author
Judith Erwin is an award-winning author of nine novels with the tenth and eleventh in progress. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she has spent the majority of her life in Florida, where she currently lives.
A retired attorney and former freelance writer/photographer who specialized in theater and dance, Judith draws on her multi-faceted experience in the legal system and the arts community to craft the plots and characters populating her work. During her twenty-two years in law, she came into contact with a diverse population including convicted killers, drug dealers, addicts, domestic violence abusers, victims of physical and sexual abuse, and those with mental health issues such as schizophrenia, multiple-personality syndrome, and bi-polar disorder—plus experts in psychology and addiction.
During her career in freelance journalism, she interviewed celebrities including Emmy Award Winning Michael Emerson and legendary actor James Best. Her published photographs include those of Red Skelton, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Gregory Hines.
Proof that it’s never too late to change careers or achieve a dream, Judith obtained a law degree from the University of Florida at the age of 55 and released her first novel, Shadow of Silence, on her 75th birthday.
The mother of one son, a successful businessman, and one daughter, the artistic director of a Florida ballet company, she has six adult grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Judith loves the Episcopal faith, dance, books, theater, film, music, art photography, porcelain figurines, and animals—especially cats.
Judith has been interviewed by Bookish Indulgences and the North Florida Writers Tour. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, the Florida Writer’s Association, the Florida Authors and Publishers Association, and AllAuthor.com.
